The Pharaonic currency was first issued during the 30th dynasty. Prior to that, the Pharaonic regime followed the barter system for grain, livestock, eggs or some handmade products.
Egypt also hit the currency for the first time under some political pressure. Because King Takhos had to bring a number of mercenary soldiers from Greece to fight the Persians who came to Egypt for the purpose of occupying it.
The coin was struck in the name of King Takhos in 350 BC and was called Nub Nefer.
