Geprägt vor 50 Jahren zum 100-jährigen Jubiläum der Konföderation!

2017 feiert Kanada den 150. Jahrestag des Bestehens der Kanadischen Konföderation. Am 1. Juli 1867 schlossen sich die britischen Kolonien New Brunswick und Nova Scotia mit der britischen Provinz Kanada zum Bundesstaat Kanada zusammen.

Damit entstanden die vier ersten Provinzen Kanadas: Ontario, Québec, Nova Scotia und New Brunswick, denen im Laufe des 19. und 20. Jahrhunderts weitere Provinzen und Territorien beitraten - als letztes das Territorium Nunavut am 1. April 1999. Als Nationalfeiertag wird der 1. Juli jedes Jahr festlich zelebriert.

Vor 50 Jahren feierte Kanada sein 100-jähriges Bestehen mit dieser Silber-Gedenkmünze. Diese zeigt die heute weltweit verbreitete Kanadagans, die ursprünglich nur in Nordamerika beheimatet war und erst seit ca. 1970 auch in Deutschland vorkommt.

Minted 50 years ago to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Confederation!

In 2017, Canada celebrates the 150th anniversary of the Canadian Confederation. On July 1, 1867, the British colonies of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia joined with the British province of Canada to form the federal state of Canada.

This created the first four provinces of Canada: Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, which were joined by other provinces and territories in the course of the 19th and 20th centuries - the last being the territory of Nunavut on April 1, 1999. As a national holiday, July 1 is celebrated every year.

Fifty years ago, Canada celebrated its 100th anniversary with this commemorative silver coin. This shows the Canada goose, which is now widespread throughout the world and was originally only native to North America and has only been present in Germany since about 1970.
