Die österreichische 1 Dukat Goldmünze war für einen langen Zeitraum die österreichische Währung. Die 1 Dukat Goldmünzen dient heut größtenteils dem Zweck der Wertanlage. Schon seit 1920 findet diese Anlagemünze eine große Nachfrage am Anlegermarkt. Die ersten 1 Dukat Goldmünzen in Österreich wurden Anfang des 16. Jahrhunderts geprägt. Im Mittelpunkt der Rückseite der 1 Dukat Goldmünze erkennt man den so oft geprägten und weltbekannten bekannten Doppelkopfadler. Dieser Adler stellte sogleich das Staatswappen der Republik Österreich-Ungarn in den Jahren 1867/1968 bis 1915. Alle Neuprägungen der 1 Dukat Goldmünzen tragen die besondere Jahreszahl "1915", um sich von der Erstprägung zu differenzen.
