This carving was handcrafted by me Willy Paul in Taranaki Newzealand. It is a carved Giant Toheroa shell which comes from the far north. This is designed to be hung in the window or worn as a pendant on special occasions. When hung in the window it catches the sun and recharges the positive energy within the home.
You'll often see the koru depicted in jewellery made in New Zealand – specifically that carved from pounamu (greensonte) or even bone. When given as a gift, the koru symbolises the start of a new relationship, or new phase in a relationship, as it suggests growth, harmony, and new beginnings
